SUMMARY:Creating Socially Inclusive Play Spaces - Full Day Training
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a full-day workshop and collaborative exploration of how to create play spaces that welcome everyone. \nThis interactive workshop will unpack the meaning of social inclusion and help you distinguish between access and true inclusion. Through engaging activities and case studies\, you’ll identify common barriers and explore practical\, inclusive design solutions. You’ll gain insight into the impact of community attitudes toward people with disability and how these shape experiences and participation. \nTogether\, we’ll also explore the power of play in children’s development—emotionally\, physically\, socially\, and beyond—and define what makes a play space genuinely inclusive. You’ll come away being able to better evaluate play environments\, plan inclusive features\, and justify design choices that meet the diverse needs of communities across Australia. \nWhether you’re a designer\, educator\, planner\, or advocate\, this training will equip you with the knowledge and tools to champion inclusive play for all. \nMorning tea\, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided. \n
