DESCRIPTION:This is a 3 hour training delivered face-to-face in Boorloo/ Perth CBD. \nA practical training for team members and staff looking to increase their awareness of neurodivergence and take a more inclusive and informed approach to working within their diverse team\, developed by trainers with relevant lived and professional experience. \nLight Morning Tea will be provided. \nWho is this workshop for? \nIndividuals in any role or sector\, who wish to understand how to support neurodivergent colleagues better\, and increase representation of neurodivergent individuals in the workplace. \nWorkshop Content: \n\nStrengthen your understanding of neurodiversity V. neurodivergence\nExplore Neuro-affirming language and theory\nUnderstanding best practice to support neurodivergent staff\nBreak down stereotypes associated with neurodivergence\nLearning how to support disclosure and respond to access needs in professional settings\nUnderstanding strengths of neurodivergence\nUnderstanding the concepts of masking and unmasking in relation to neurodivergence\nPractical tools and tips to apply for staff and managers who work alongside neurodivergent folk\n\n﻿﻿\n \n  \nA note on accessibility and neurodiversity: We try to make our events as accessible and neurodivergent friendly as possible. The forum will feature three guest speakers\, a dynamic panel discussion\, and stalls showcasing local community services operating in this space. Mentors can share stories and experiences about life in the industry while introducing individuals to helpful networks and increasing their confidence.
