Building Inclusive Sporting Pathways Towards Brisbane 2032

Join Sport Inclusion Australia and Inclusion Solutions at SportWest or online for an engaging workshop designed for sport, recreation and community professionals seeking to better understand pathways and opportunities for people with intellectual disability in sport. This workshop will explore how organisations can create more inclusive environments, support athlete development, and strengthen pathways from community participation through to elite competition.

Robyn Smith OAM

Sport Inclusion Australia International Engagement Advisor, President of Virtus, Board Member of the International Paralympic Committee and Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Australian Sporting Association of People with Disability (ASAPD)

Robyn has more than 35 years of experience working alongside governments, sporting organisations and disability organisations to advance inclusive sport across Australia and internationally.

Sport Inclusion Australia

Sport Inclusion Australia is a National Sporting Organisation established in 1986. Its founding principle of Leave No One Behind, has underpinned its successes over four decades, to promote sporting opportunities for people with an impairment with a focus on intellectual impairment (including intellectual disability and/or autism) in mainstream settings with sport owning and delivering sport for all Australians at the appropriate ability level with a ‘person first’ approach’.

Inclusion Solutions is an established Western Australia organisation dedicated to unlocking the potential within every individual and community, by creating opportunities for people, with a focus on people with a disability to be socially included. Our mission revolves around the creation of inclusive, supportive communities where everyone can thrive. Inclusion Solutions is the Western Australian member of Sport Inclusion Australia.

SportWest is located within SportHQ on Underwood Avenue in Floreat. Free parking is available on-site and in surrounding parking areas. Not ticketed.
If using GPS, enter “SportHQ, 203 Underwood Avenue, Floreat WA 6014”.

By Public Transport
The venue is accessible by Transperth bus services operating through the Floreat and Mount Claremont precinct. Use the Transperth JourneyPlanner to identify the best route from their location to 203 Underwood Avenue, Floreat.

Arrival
Please allow a few extra minutes to find parking and make your way to the workshop room. Upon arrival, enter SportHQ and follow signage to the workshop location on your left once entering glass doors.

Entry instructions
SportWest is located on the ground floor, with step-free access from the entrance to the workshop room. There are no stairs or elevators required to access the workshop space. Accessible toilets are also located on the ground floor, close to the workshop area.
